George Zimmerman helps save family from overturned SUV

SANFORD, Fla. George Zimmerman, who was acquitted in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, helped rescue a family of four who were involved in a single-car accident, CBS Affiliate WTSP reports.

According to a Seminole County Sheriff's Office report, the family was driving in a Ford Explorer SUV in Sanford last week, when it went off the road and rolled over.

A responding deputy reported that when he arrived, Zimmerman and another man helped the two adults and two children out of the vehicle.

No one in the car was injured.

The report states that Zimmerman was not a witness to the crash, and left after making contact with the responding deputy.

This is the first known public sighting of Zimmerman since he was found not guilty of second-degree murder charges in the death of Martin in February 2012. Zimmerman said he shot Martin in self-defense.
