George Michael Arrested After Car Crash in London
NEW YORK (CBS) George Michael has been arrested following a car crash in London, according to British reports.
The 47-year-old singer was arrested Sunday after police responded to reports that a car had crashed into a building on Hampstead High Street in north London.
According to the BBC, Michael was taken to a north London police station and posted bail. Michael will return in August pending further investigation.
The BBC also reports Michael was banned from driving for two years in 2007 after pleading guilty to driving on drugs. The singer was accused of colliding with three parked cars and driving off without notifying the owners.
The Associated Press reported Tuesday that Michael's publicists in London declined comment.
