General Election Debates Scheduled

The Commission on Presidential Debates today announced the dates, sites and formats for the three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate for the 2008 general election. Here they are – hopefully your debate fatigue will have worn off by then:

First Presidential Debate: Friday, September 26, University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS

Second Presidential Debate: Tuesday, October 7, Belmont University, Nashville, TN

Third Presidential Debate: Wednesday, October 15, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY

Vice Presidential Debate: Thursday, October 2, Washington University in St. Louis, MO

All the debates will start at 9:00 pm and last 90 minutes, and will be administered by a single moderator. The first presidential debate will focus on domestic policy, the third will focus on foreign policy, and the second debate, which will be structured like a town meeting, will include issues raised by members of the audience.
