Gadget Love: Transfer Files Fast with the Tornado
Moving large batches of files from one PC to another can be a royal pain. Unless they're both connected to a network, you're stuck with trying to copy everything to space-limited flash drives or, horrors, CDs/DVDs. It might be worth investing in a product like The Tornado, which connects a pair of PCs via their USB ports for fast and easy file sharing.
This handy little gizmo features two retractable cables that extend up to four feet. It weighs less than 5 ounces and works with Windows 98 SE and later (including Vista). Best of all, there's no software to install: When you plug the Tornado into your PCs, it automatically runs its onboard file-transfer software, which enables drag-and-drop file copying. That aspect alone makes this a winning product in my book, though the $60 price tag seems a little steep. [via jkOnTheRun]
