Gadget Love: Logitech V550 Mouse with "Clip-and-Go" Dock

At first blush, the Logitech V550 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse looks like any other. However, it's a bit smarter than the average rodent: Its "clip-and-go" dock affixes to your notebook's lid for easy mouse transport.

If you're the kind of user who's constantly hopping from one conference room to another, this clever little contrivance could really come in handy. The dock is just a small stick-on nub (which Logitech promises is easily removable); the mouse snaps onto it much like a coat-pocket flap snaps shut.

The V550 also comes with a tiny 2.4GHz USB receiver that protrudes only about half an inch from the port where it's inserted, meaning you could probably leave it there full-time. Best of all, Logitech claims the V550 will last 18 months on a single set of AA batteries. Cleverly, the mouse automatically powers off when docked.

It's a little pricey at $59.99 list, but the Logitech V550 could be the perfect mouse for folks who are constantly on the run with their notebooks. [via Crave]
