Gabe Kaplan: Will he join the "Weclome Back, Kotter" reunion?
(CBS) John Travolta is set to appear with some of the Sweathogs when "Welcome Back, Kotter" gets the 35th Anniversary Award at the 2011 TV Land Awards. So what's going on with Kotter himself, Gabe Kaplan?
As of now, he's not committed to appear. Those who have RSVP'd yes are Marcia Strassman (Kotter's wife, Julie), Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (Freddie Washington), Ron Palillo (Horshack) and of course, Travolta as Vinnie Barbarino.
For now, Kotter fans who want to see Kaplan will have to look for him at the poker tables. Kaplan is a successful professional poker player and commentator. He's played in the World Series of Poker and has appeared in numerous poker TV shows, including "Poker after Dark."
The 2011 TV Land Awards tape April 10 and air April 17.
