Full-Figured Fashion
Ceslie Armstrong, editor-in-chief of Grace magazine, showed some of the latest fall fashions for full-figured women on The Saturday Early Show.
Armstrong says five trends are hot for fall and full-figured women shouldn't shy away from them. They can even bend the once-inflexible fashion rules for plus sizes to avoid bright colors and large prints or patterns because they will make you look larger.
This fall it's all about sophistication and elegance. Gone are the Western looks, the fringes, and the peasant tops. This fall, everything is about elegance. It's finally time for a more grown-up wardrobe.
1. Menswear Inspired. Menswear is also women's wear, but the news is, it¹s about the details. The Lafayette 148 suit conjures up images of a modern Marlene Dietrich. Fitted and sexy, the contrast of the low-cut charmeuse blouse and pearls, paired with pinstripe suiting, is what makes this a lady's look.
Lafayette 148 Black with crème pinstripe single-breasted jacket $428
Crème silk halter-top with waist sash - $198
Black with crème pinstripe pant - $298
Isaac by Isaac Mizrahi black slingbacks - $170
2. Brown. Brown tones are synonymous with the earthiness of fall. The different hues of brown look rich together. Affordable, luxurious cashmere by Yansi Fugal is a delight to the senses when shown with matching wrap, and takes it a step further when paired with Marina Rinaldi brushed cotton, ruched pants.
Yansi Fugal Brown cashmere knit turtleneck - $247
Brown cashmere knit wrap - $435
Marina Rinaldi Camel brushed suede pant with ruched leg - $355

3. Black-And-White. Make It Mod. . Mod is back. Classic and crisp, black looks freshest this fall when paired with eye-popping white details, whether it¹s gloves, a belt, shoes, bags, or trimmings. This look is reminiscent of Catherine Deneuve in "Belle de Jour" from 1967.

White knit turtleneck - $25
Black cotton flared skirt - $30
LaCrasia leather driving gloves (wrist)- $100 or (elbow) - $150

4. Animal Print. Take a walk on the wild side. Exotic animal prints are back on the scene this fall. They are feminine and add a hint of allure to your wardrobe. Keep it chic and simple by pairing it with toned-down accessories.
Josephine Chaus silk snakeskin print blouse - $79
Silk snakeskin print skirt - $79
Colette Malouf Resin cuff bracelet - $100

5. Floral. Against a sea of black-and-white and browns, there is color. Two of this season's biggest trends are ravishing red and feminine florals. Keep the heat turned up well into fall in Morgan-Gual's floral chiffon halter dress.
Morgan-Gual Red floral print halter dress $340
