Freedom of Choice: Read and Edit Microsoft Office Documents on Your Android Phone
Android users might sometimes feel like they're missing out on some document editing love, but things are starting to look up. A few months ago, we told you that Documents to Go is now available, and now we've gotten wind that not only is ThinkFree Mobile also available, but Documents to Go has been upgraded to version 2.0 as well.
ThinkFree Mobile is fully Microsoft Office compatible, able to read and write documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, from Office 97 to Office 2007. ThinkFree includes PDF support as well. That's cool, but what we really like is direct integration with Google Docs, so you can make changes and publish files directly to the Web.
Meanwhile, DataViz has updated Documents To Go to version 2.0. Now DTG includes PowerPoint and PDF support, along with a slew of enhancements to Word and Excel, such as find/replace, word count, and additional formatting options. The basic version of DTG - which includes just Word and Excel support -- is free, though the whole enchilada (including PowerPoint and PDF) costs $30.
