Florida man sought in attempted murder of infant

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. -- Authorities are searching for a 31-year-old Tampa Bay area man suspected of kicking, punching, and biting an 11-month old boy.

Pinellas Park police say Glen Franklin Neal Jr. is wanted on an attempted murder charge.

The child was brought to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg on Sunday, suffering from a severe head injury. Investigators say they believe Neal abused the boy, who remains in serious condition with bleeding on the brain.

Police haven't confirmed Neal's relationship to the boy but say he was responsible for the child's care and was in the child's home, reports CBS affiliate WTSP.

Anyone with information about Neal's whereabouts is asked to call authorities.

Neal's criminal history includes arrests on charges of child neglect, resisting arrest, fleeing to elude, cocaine possession, and battery on a law enforcement officer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477) or report online at www.crimestoppersofpinellas.org. Anonymous tipsters who provide information leading to Neal's arrest will be eligible for a cash reward.
