(CBS/AP) PORT ST. JOHN, Fla. - Authorities say five people are dead after a shooting in Florida.

The bodies were discovered Tuesday morning after a shooting in a Port St. John neighborhood.  According to CBS affiliate WKMG, over a dozen deputies and SWAT team members converged on a home around 5 a.m. following reports of the shooting.

Brevard County Sheriff spokesman Andrew Walters says that he has no further details, but that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Walters says deputies are investigating the deaths as homicides.

Earlier, residents were allowed to leave the area as deputies in camouflage carrying assault rifles arrived, reports WKMG.

Port St. John is about 15 miles west of Cape Canaveral. The area is known as the "Space Coast" because it is the home of NASA's Kennedy Space Center.
