Five More Essential Productivity Apps for Your iPhone
If you can tear yourself away from Spore Origins for a minute, it's time to put your iPhone to seriously productive use. Here are five more App Store gems you'll definitely want to check out. (As with my first batch of iPhone productivity apps, the following links all require iTunes.)
- Air Mouse True to its name, Air Mouse turns your iPhone (or iPod touch) into a wireless mouse, making it perfect for controlling presentations from across the room. Alas, it's not a freebie, but $5.99 seems reasonable for such a cool tool. Air Mouse is available for Windows now, Macs later.
- Air Sharing I wrote about this last week, but it merits repeating. Air Sharing turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a portable hard drive, letting you drag and drop files to your device and view documents on the go. Even cooler, it works this magic wirelessly. You've still got a few days to get it free; after that it'll cost you $6.99 (well worth it).
- Instapaper Free When you're browsing on your PC and come across a Web site (cough Business Hacks cough), blog post, news item, feature, or whatever that you want to read later, just click the Instapaper bookmarklet. Then fire up the Instapaper app on your iPhone, and presto: there's the Web page. Genius!
- O-Marks If you're a Foxmarks or Del.icio.us user, you'll love O-Marks: It syncs your bookmarks from either of those two services to your iPhone. Lifehacker gives you a quick rundown on how to set up O-Marks, which is free.
- Voice Broadcast A great tool for managers and sales folk, Ifbyphone's Voice Broadcast lets you send a prerecorded message to multiple recipients, either immediately or at a scheduled time. The app itself is free, and you can get a free Ifbyphone account with 100 minutes of "broadcast time" per month.
