Fire On The Hill

Fire crews were dispatched this morning to battle a blaze at the Republicans' Capitol Hill Club.

It turns out it wasn't much of a conflagration.   A D.C. fire captain tells us that the fire broke out in a small kitchen on the third floor, and that there was more smoke than flame.

A waiter said that the fire started after somebody put a plastic rack of glassware on a stove.

"People say the stove turns itself on and off," the waiter told us. "I don't know why the stove is even there. We never use it."
