Find Your Next Job Using Twitter

Twitter is increasingly becoming an all-purpose resource to do everything from finding pizza coupons to sending PowerPoint notes to meeting attendees. The more adventurous among us have even used Twitter to network for employment opportunities. Here's a service that is taking the ad hoc nature of Twitter job searches and making it more predictable and productive.

Tweetajob allows employers to tweet job openings directly to prospective job candidates.

If you're looking for work, using this service is as easy as registering (for free) and following Tweetajob on Twitter. By registering, you can specify your location and the kind of work you're looking for, so you don't get inundated with job posts which you have no interest in.

Employers pay $5 per Tweet for the privilege of sending out job posts (and less with volume). The economics of this are, of course, unproven. It can cost hundreds of dollars to use a mainstream job site, but there are (right now) potentially a lot more eyeballs on those posts than Tweetajob is likely to get. But for a few dollars, I'm guessing a lot of employers are willing to give this a shot. [via AppScout]
