Find Apps that Work Seamlessly with Dropbox

Dropbox has made storing files in the cloud routine and convenient. While it doesn't offer the most storage -- SkyDrive takes that prize, with 25GB of capacity -- it seamlessly integrates into Windows and smartphones for effortless file transfers. And now Dropbox has a few important updates which makes it even more compelling.

First up: Dropbox has its own app store, of sorts. Actually just a directory ofr third party applications, you can browse apps which are optimized for Dropbox by platform -- Web, Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad, or Windows Mobile. To wit: The Web category currently includes 9 apps, including AirDropper and Habilis, both of which we've recently told you about. There are a staggering 40-ish apps for the iPhone.

Armed with this app directory, it's easy to find apps which enable you to work in the cloud, saving files and other data directly to your Dropbox account for seamless mobile productivity.

And while we're on the subject, the iPhone and iPad apps have been updated with caching, so once you download a document, it stays on the device. That's not just a time-saver, but it conserves your data plan as well. [via TUAW]
