(CBS News) Feist's summer schedule just got a lot busier. The singer-songwriter has booked a spring and summer tour that begins with a two-weekend appearance at Coachella in Indio, Calif. in April.

Dates are lined up through the end of August, including stops in New York, Minneapolis and Boston. Also on the itinerary is a performance at the the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and a set at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

The Canadian songstress will be on the road behind her 2011 "Metals" album, her first release since 2007. "Metals" made it on to many best-of 2011 lists, including Pitchfork, Spin and Rolling Stone.

Feist will soon release a new collaboration with heavy metal band Mastodon for Record Store Day. The limited-edition 7-inch single, due April 21, finds Mastodon covering Feist's "A Commotion" and Feist doing a version of Mastadon's "Black Tongue."
