Family searches for missing Houston doctor Fehintola Omidele

HOUSTON -- Family and officials are frantically searching for a young Houston doctor missing since Nov. 30.

Fehintola Omidele, 25, is in her first year in residency at Memorial Hermann medical center in Houston specializing in pediatrics, reports CBS affiliate KHOU.

Omidele's father told the station he received a call from her mentor Monday morning, telling him that his daughter didn't show up for work. When the family went to her apartment, they found her cell phone, but her Toyota Camry was missing, reports the station.

Family says it's not typical behavior for the hardworking doctor not to be in contact with family and friends.

"She goes to work every day and she likes to be on top of everything," said her father Sejun Omidele. "She is someone who is very friendly, she has amazing friends who will go to any length to do anything for her. She is extremely kind-hearted, good-hearted."

Despite the long hours, Omidele said his daughter loves her job.

"I cried the whole nights since it happened," Omidele told the station. "If (Fehintola) is watching - everyone is hurting, please, please get in touch with someone let us know you're okay."

Fehintola Omidele is described as five feet, five inches tall and weighs 145 pounds. She drives a 2011 dark grey Toyota Camry with Texas plates BZ2L971.

Anyone with information is asked to call the University of Texas police at 713-792-2890.
