Feds raid Saudi-owned home near D.C., suspect human trafficking, report says
(CBS) McLean, Va. - A Saudi-owned home in an upscale neighborhood in suburban Wash., D.C. was raided Tuesday by federal authorities looking for evidence of human trafficking, according to radio station CBS DC.
Two women were reportedly rescued from the home in McLean, Va.
Authorities believe the women are from the Philippines and work at the Saudi Embassy in Washington.Real estate records show the home is owned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Armed Forces Office, the station reported.
U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) investigators are working on the case, which according to officials is in the beginning stage.
ICE officials reportedly said even if they determine a crime has been committed, they still might not be able to file charges due to diplomatic immunity.
A representative of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday.
