According to the Indianapolis Star, a spokeswoman for Republic Services, the company that runs the Sycamore Ridge landfill in Terre Haute, says there have been discussions about scouring the site for the past few weeks. The FBI requested a search warrant for the facility on June 16, according to reports.

Terre Haute is about 55 miles away from Bloomington, reports CBS affiliate WSBT.

Spierer, of Greenburgh, N.Y., was last seen early June 3 walking alone to her Bloomington apartment after a night out with friends.

Although authorities have not named any suspects in the case, police suspect foul play in this missing person case. Bloomington Police aren't commenting on the possible search.
