FBI Raids Doolittle's Virginia Home

The FBI raided the northern Virginia home of Republican Rep. John Doolittle of California on Friday, his lawyer confirmed Wednesday.

The FBI conducted the raid to gather documents from his wife's fundraising firm, Sierra Dominion Financial Solutions, Inc, said David G. Barger, a lawyer with Williams Mullen in Tysons Corner, Va.

Julie Doolittle's two main clients were the congressman himself and incarcerated lobbyist Jack Abramoff and firms associated with him. The Justice Department has already subpoenaed files from Sierra Dominion.

"My wife has been cooperating with the FBI and the Justice Department for almost three years and that cooperation is going to continue in the future," Doolittle said in a statement released by his office Wednesday afternoon. "I support my wife 100 percent and fully expect that the truth will prevail."

The raid may be linked to the decision by Kevin Ring, a former Doolittle aide, to quit his law firm last week, which was first reported by Politico's Josephine Hearn on Monday.
