Father & Daughter Oscar Connection
Sunday's Oscar ceremony added to a brief but notable list of parent-child honorees.
Angelina Jolie's win for best supporting actress for her role in Girl, Interrupted came 21 years after her father, Jon Voight, was awarded best actor for Coming Home.
Despite having an Oscar in the family, Jolie said she "never actually held an Oscar before."
"It's quite amazing," said Jolie. "My dad's mother had his in a goldfish bowl or something, on the mantelpiece in New York. It was, like, way up and I never held it. You just kind of figure it's the strange thing in grandma's house."
Nevertheless, winning the Oscar is a "big thing" for Jolie.

"You try to attain as an actor...a performance that is really acknowledged and it means something."
Born Angelina Jolie Voight to the actor and then-wife Marcheline Bertrand, Jolie dropped her famous surname when she started acting.
But in her acceptance speech, Jolie praised her father for being an even better father than he is an actor.
She also seems to have an unusually close relationship with her brother.
"I'm so in love with my brother right now," Jolie said at the podium.

Michael Douglas won an Academy Award for producing the 1975 best picture One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and also for best actor in 1987 for Wall Street. Father Kirk Douglas won an honorary Oscar in 1995.
Jane Fonda won best actress for her role in Klute in 1971 and again in 1978 for Coming Home. Father Henry Fonda received an honorary Oscar in 1980 and a best actor award for On Golden Pond in 1981.
Vincente Minnelli won best director for Gigi in 1958. In 1972, daughter Liza Minnelli won best actress for Cabaret.
The Oscar has been in Hollywood's Huston family for three generations. John Huston won for directing the 1948 classic The Treasure of the Sierra Madre," and father Walter won for supporting actor in the same film. In 1985, John Huston directed daughter Angelica to a best supporting actress award in Prizzi's Honor.
