"Fast Five" actor @TheRock one of the first to tweet #Osama news
(CBS/What's Trending) Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is on fire today. First, his movie "Fast & Furious 5" or "Fast Five" was number one at the box office this weekend, taking in the highest opening weekend for the franchise at $83.6 million. It also set the record for the biggest Universal Pictures opening and the U.S. opening weekend in the month of April ever.
Then, he was one of the first people to tweet about Osama bin Laden's death. He knew the news before President Obama official announcement, just a mere 45 minutes after Dan Pfeiffer announced that Obama would be holding a press conference.
Third, did we mention it's his birthday today?
All three newsworthy items have made The Rock a much blogged about person today. Now, all kinds of fun theories and rumors are surrounding the wrestler-turned-actor. Our favorite? It's definitely the one that he's going to star in the movie version of yesterday's events as the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden. (Kickstarter campaign, anyone?)
But, if there's anything that can be gleaned from this story, it's that the Rock can always smell when big news is cooking.
