Fantasy baseball? Book documents Rangers' non-existent World Series win
Texas Rangers fans, your ship has come in.
For just $29.95, you can own the book that "captures the Rangers World Series championship season." The "incredible 11 x 8.5 hard-bound book" promises to take you "from the first pitch on Opening Day to the final out of the 2011 World Series in 144 dramatic pages." It's available for pre-order now. And it's Prime eligible!
Of course, some stodgy old complainers will point out that it was in fact the St. Louis Cardinals that won the dramatic 2011 Fall Classic in seven games, and that the Rangers (who also lost last year's championship to the Giants) have never won a World Series.
But such details are of no concern to SportsDay from The Dallas Morning News, which is credited for producing the glossy masterpiece, still scheduled for release November 9.
It's certainly possible that a book tracing the Rangers' season would be a good read for baseball fans, although the publisher might want to change the title from "Texas Triumph: 2011 World Series Champions."
But maybe it's too late for that. On the Amazon product page, commenter Katherine T. makes a helpful alternative suggestion: "Might want to move this to the fiction section."
