Facebook unfriends "unfriending 'bug"

Curious to know who may have unfriended you on Facebook? Now you have to do your own detective work.

In the immediate aftermath of the debut of Facebook's new Timeline feature last week, one particular setting got a lot of attention as it would allow someone to see who might have dumped them as friends. That did not sit with with some privacy advocates who complained that Facebook was violating user privacy, since it was made abundantly clear to de-friended people who no longer wanted contact with them. Facebook has now removed the feature, informing the world that it was a "bug." It's only the latest privacy concer to emerge since Facebook announced sweeping changes to its service. Over the weekend, Facebook was accused of tracking users even when they log out of the social network. Facebook has rejected that characterization as inaccurate.
