Eyeliner pencil-turned-weapon, in teen girl's assault on Mass. cop, reports say

(CBS) SALEM, Mass - An eyeliner pencil turned into a weapon when a teenage girl being brought into the Salem, Mass., police station Wednesday attacked an officer who wound up hospitalized, CBS Boston reported.

Police said two teen girls, 14 and 15, were both brought to the station on separate warrants, when the 15-year-old "harpooned" the officer in the face, according to SalemNews.com.

The newspaper reported both girls fled but were quickly caught. Neither was handcuffed at the time of the alleged assault.

The injured officer was treated at Mass. General Hospital and released.

The two teens are charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
