Ex-Obama, McCain Aides Join Forces for New Center

(CBS)
Not everyone may think President Obama or Sen. John McCain demonstrate true bipartisanship, but it appears as if their campaign directors are taking to heart the 2008 campaign promise of working together.

Mr. Obama's 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe is working with McCain's 2008 presidential campaign manager, Steve Schmidt , to open the Center for Political Communication at the University of Delaware, U.S. News and World Report first reported.

Both men went to school at the university, which also can boast Vice President Joe Biden as an alum. Both Schmidt and Plouffe are still working on their degrees, however. Schmidt attended UD from 1988 to 1993 but reportedly still has three hours to finish up, while Plouffe was a student there from 1985 through 1988. Both were working on political science degrees.

The Center for Political Communication will include coursework in areas including political science, communication, digital communication, marketing, sociology and business, according to U.S. News and World Report, and will be nonpartisan.
