EMS tech robbed while treating patient

DETROIT - An EMS technician in Detroit was robbed while providing medical treatment to a patient, reports CBS Detroit.

Police say the 51-year-old male suspect knew the female patient and took personal property from inside the EMS truck Tuesday afternoon while the woman was being treated.

When the EMS tech tried to stop the suspect, the suspect assaulted him, according to the station. Members of Homeland Security were in the area and detained the suspect a few blocks away. The personal property was recovered.

The suspect was released into the custody of Detroit police officers.
