NEW YORK (CBS) Six actors who showed off their dramatic chops are in contention for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series award at this year's Primetime Emmys.

John Slattery as Roger Sterling, "Mad Men." Slattery plays Roger Sterling, the head of an advertising agency in 1960s New York.
Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, "Breaking Bad." Paul plays Jesse Pinkman, a young man who teams up with his former high school teacher to manufacture and sell methamphetamine.
Andre Braugher as Owen, "Men of a Certain Age." Braugher plays Owen, an overstressed husband and father who works at a car dealership owned by his father.
Martin Short as Leonard Winstone, "Damages." Short plays Leonard Winstone, an attorney with a shady past who represents a family under investigation.
Terry O'Quinn as John Locke, "Lost." O'Quinn plays John Locke, one of the survivors of the Oceanic 815 plane crash who has a special relationship with the mysterious island they crash on.
Michael Emerson as Ben Linus, "Lost." Emerson plays Ben Linus, a member and onetime leader of the Others, who lived on the island before the Oceanic 815 crash.
