Emanuel Blasts Bush's Lack Of Leadership On Economy

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rep. Rahm Emanuel came out swinging on Monday morning, taking President Bush to task for his handling of the current financial crisis.

“The current financial crisis is the most significant shock to our economic system since the Great Depression and calls out for presidential leadership," Emanuel said in a statement.

"An economy in crisis cannot be led by a silent President. Democrats and Republicans are working together to pass an economic recovery plan, but the President needs to turn the lights back on in the Oval Office and address the nation in short order.”
