Warne sent another tweet shooting down rumors that he proposed in front of VIP guests at a dinner during the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Kingsbarns, Scotland.

"I didn't propose in front of 200 people at dinner It was done privately and was very romantic - if I say so myself Ps left knee is sore !!!," he wrote.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship also sent out a press release confirming the news: "Shane Warne has confirmed his engagement to actress Elizabeth Hurley after proposing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The 42-year-old former Australian cricketer proposed to Miss Hurley on Friday evening before celebrating with guests and VIPs in St Andrews' Old Course Hotel."

The Daily Mail was first to report the engagement, and ran a photo of Hurley, 46, sporting a sapphire and diamond engagement ring. According to the paper, the couple has been dating for 10 months.

This will be the second marriage for both. Hurley's divorce from Indian businessman Arun Nayar was finalized in June. She has one son, 9-year-old Damian, from a previous relationship.
