NEW YORK (CBS) Elizabeth Edwards left nothing for her estranged husband, former vice presidential candidate and N.C. Sen. John Edwards, in the will she signed six days before she died after a long battle with breast cancer last month.

Was this a surprise?

The high-profile political couple, who separated last year but never officially divorced, had seen their personal dramas unfold on the public stage.

In October 2007, reports leaked about John's infidelity with a former campaign staffer. At the time, Elizabeth stood by John, who initially denied the story. But after he admitted to fathering a child with videographer Rielle Hunter, the two legally separated in January 2010.

In her will, first obtained by Inside Edition, Elizabeth states, "All of my furniture, furnishings, household goods, jewelry, china, silverware and personal effects and any automobiles owned by me at the time of my death I give and bequeath to my children who shall be living at the time of my death."

She named her eldest daughter, Catherine, as the executor of her estate. The 28-year-old will also serve as guardian for her siblings, Emma Claire, 12, and Jack, 10.

We know you have some creative ideas on what Elizabeth ought to have given John. Tell us your best suggestions after taking  the poll.
