Elizabeth Edwards' Funeral Details Released

Details for Elizabeth Edwards' funeral services were released today. Edwards, the estranged wife of former presidential candidate John Edwards, died Tuesday after a six-year battle with cancer.

The services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. Edwards attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and lived for years in Raleigh. She attended Edenton Street United Methodist after the death of her 16-year-old son Wade in 1996.

Edwards' oldest daughter Cate and her close friends Hargrave McElroy and Glenn Bergenfield will offer eulogies.

The service is open to the public, and there will be a private burial will be for family only.

The Westboro Baptist Church, the inflammatory Kansas-based group that protests military funerals and funerals of gay rights advocates, has announced it plans to protest Edwards' funeral. The Edenton Street United Methodist Church has said it was aware of the planned protest but has not yet decided how to respond.
