(CBS) CORAL GABLES, Fla. - A SWAT team in South Florida took a woman into custody Sunday night after her elderly parents said they were held hostage, CBS Miami reported.

According to police, the couple was held hostage for at least a couple of days in their home in Coral Gables.

The woman's parents got away from the home and went to the Coral Gables Police Department about 6 p.m. Sunday with lacerations and burn marks, said Coral Gables spokesman Dean Wellinghoff.

Officers went to the home and asked the daughter to come out, but when she did not, a SWAT team was sent in to take her into custody, CBS Miami reported.

The station say police believe the woman has a mental condition, and that it might have played a role in the incident.

The parents were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries Sunday night.
