(CBS) Edward Burns has become synonymous with Tribeca and the Tribeca Film Festival in the last decade. His 2002 film "Ash Wednesday" debuted at the festival and his latest, "Newlyweds," will have its world premiere at this year's Tribeca Film Festival on April 30.

"Newlyweds" is Burns' 10th film as writer/director and 2011 is the 10th edition of the festival. Several other Burns films, including the underappreciated "Purple Violets," have premiered at Tribeca.

"Tribeca is my home in every sense - it's where I live, and it's also the place where I have been so proud to show my work," said Burns in a press release.

In "Newlyweds," a newly married couple has its honeymoon period interrupted by various family members. It stars Burns, who also wrote and directed, Caitlin Fitzgerald and Kerry Bishe, who appeared in Burns' "Nice Guy Johnny."
