Edit Your Photos with GIMP 2.4
No software arsenal is complete without a good image-editing program. The GNU Image Manipulation Program, widely known as GIMP, offers a huge, Photoshop-caliber suite of tools for tweaking, retouching, and otherwise enhancing digital images. Version 2.4 of the open-source (read: free) program was just released.
The update, the first in several years, features a refreshed interface, scalable brushes, improved crop and selection tools, full-screen editing, and support for color profiles. GIMP 2.4 also includes an "auto-magic" red-eye removal tool. You can see the complete list of updates here.
Before you invest big bucks in an image-editing tool like Photoshop, grab GIMP and see if it doesn't meet your needs. It's available for Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. [via Download Squad]
