Comic-actor Eddie Murphy got a special Christmas present from his wife this year -- a baby daughter.
The star's spouse of six years, Nicole Murphy, gave birth to their fourth child, a baby girl named Zola Ivy, on Christmas Eve, according to a brief statement issued on Monday by his publicist.
The infant, born at an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital, tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 13 ounces, and measured 20 1/2 inches. Mother and baby "are doing fine," the statement said.
"We are ecstatic and very happy about the fourth addition to our family, baby Zola Ivy," the couple said in the statement.
The couple's other children are Bria, 10, Myles, 7 and Shayne, 5.
Murphy, the Saturday Night Live alumnus who starred in such films as Beverly Hills Cop and Doctor Doolittle is currently shooting The Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps to be released next year.
