"DWTS" Premiere Scores Record Ratings

"Dancing with the Stars" debuted strong on Monday night, earning the show's most-watched opening ever, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The 10th season opener brought in 23.9 million viewers, with 6.3 million of those viewers in the coveted 18-49 age range.

"Dancing with the Stars" also climbed slightly in the ratings as compared to last year.

Viewers who tuned in for the premiere saw celebrity contestants Shannen Doherty, Pamela Anderson, Chad Ochocinco, Kate Gosselin, Erin Andrews, Evan Lysacek, Nicole Scherzinger, Buzz Aldrin, Nicey Nash, Jake Pavelka and Aiden Turner dance with the Viennese waltz or the cha cha with their partners.

High scorers for the night included Pussycat Dolls singer Scherzinger, who scored 25 points out of a possible 30, and Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek, who earned 23 points.

Stars with the lowest scores included reality star Kate Gosselin (16 points), soap star Aiden Turner (15 points) and astronaut Buzz Aldrin (14 points).
