Duke Nukem Forever's PR team threatens blacklist for bad reviews

(CBS) - The public relations firm handling the long-awated game "Duke Nukem Forever" publicly threatened journalists via Twitter on Tuesday, stating that outlets that bashed the game will be blacklisted and may not receive review copies of future games.

"Too many went too far with their reviews...we are reviewing who gets games next time and who doesn't based on today's venom," PR firm The Redner Group posted last night in a tweet that has since been deleted.

CEO Jim Redner later apologized in an email to select news outlets, including CBS News' Tech Talk, calling the tweet an error in judgment and asking for forgiveness.

"My response was a juvenile act on my part. I know better and my emotion got the best of me," Jim Redner wrote in an email. "I have worked very hard on this project. I want it to succeed. I just got upset and acted out."

Jim Redner told Tech Talk that Duke Nukem publisher 2K Games has since fired his firm.

"2K Games does not endorse the comments made by Jim Redner and we can confirm that The Redner Group no longer represents our products," a spokesperson for 2K Games said in a statement. "We have always maintained a mutually-respectful working relationship with the press and do not condone his actions in any way."
