DSCC Outraises Republicans In May

Republican Senate campaigns had a good month in May, but their Democratic counterparts continue to maintain a healthy cash advantage.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released its May fund raising figures today, showing that it raised $5.9 million in May compared to the National Republican Senatorial Committee's $4.9 million. And the DSCC, run by fund raising powerhouse Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), has $38.5 million in cash on hand, compared with the NRSC's $21.6 million in cash on hand.

The DSCC points out in an e-mail to Politico that despite the Republican committee's efforts to close the enormous gap in cash on hand, the DSCC has out raised the NRSC in 16 out of 17 months.
