Drunk driver, lost and out of gas, calls cops, gets arrested
(CBS) CHICAGO - Here's one surefire way to get arrested: Call the state police, tell them you're drunk behind the wheel, lost, and out of gas.
That's what Illinois cops say 42-year-old Dante Owens did Sunday morning before police tracked down him via his cell phone signal, and hauled him in, according to CBS Chicago.
A dispatcher said Owens, from suburban Lynwood, called and said he had no idea where he was. The dispatcher asked some questions and says Owens admitted he was drunk.
An officer found him behind the wheel of his car, keys in the ignition. When he failed a field sobriety test, Owens was arrested and taken to the Kankakee County Jail.
