Drugs, cash, loaded gun found at "Fun World" child care center, NYPD says

(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - A New York City woman who ran a daycare center from her house has been arrested on multiple drug charges after authorities say she used the center as  front for a major drug trafficking operation.

Authorities say a Thursday search of the home in the Parkchester section of the Bronx, where the daycare facility was located, and another residence across the street turned up more than a kilogram of cocaine, over 1,000 oxycodone pills, a loaded gun and $180,000.

CBS New York reports Johanna Vasquez was charged with using the daycare center as a front for a drug trafficking operation. Her husband and another man were also arrested and are facing drug charges. Their names have not been released.

Authorities say some of the cocaine was packed inside a child's lunch bag. The gun that was found had been reported stolen in Pennsylvania.

A spokeswoman for the city's Special Narcotics Prosecutor's Office says records show Fun World Childcare had as many as 15 children. A call to the daycare was not answered.
