Dress Up Your Home For Fall
Now that the summer is over, it's a good time to make a few changes to your home to freshen it up and welcome the new fall/winter season.
Lifestyle and entertaining expert Colin Cowie shows how a few simple alterations - such as changing the lampshades, sofa slipcover or even a wall color - can give a room an entirely new look.
This can be a project that you do over several weeks, which can give you time to shop around and look at catalogues and really decide what you want to do. Cowie says this should be a project that inspires you and that you enjoy doing - not something stressful that you must do in a day or so.
Here is an example of the elements Cowie will use on The Early Show:
Starting With
Sofa - light summer color
2 side chairs
1 rectangular coffee table (dark wood)
1 light-colored wall with framed picture hanging
1 small summer floral arrangement
1 sisal area rug
2 side lamps
Changes
Color theme of olive green, orange, and chocolate brown:
Slip cover for the sofa
Accent pillows (large and small) - the large ones will be placed on the floor

Pillar candles (8 or so of various sizes - Cowie prefers square if possible)
Square wooden tray (dark wood - to fit on part of the coffee table)
