PHILADELPHIA – A double shooting outside of a daycare center on Tuesday left one man dead, reports CBS Philadelphia.

The incident occurred outside the H&H Daycare in West Philadelphia shortly before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. A 23-year-old man was shot once in the head, according to CBS Philly. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

Another man, 27, was hospitalized and is in stable condition after being shot once in the right thigh.

Police searched the area as the daycare center was briefly placed on lockdown. Forty children were inside, none were injured. However, parents were frustrated by the violence.

"I got the call to come get my grandkids and that's what I did," said grandfather John Creighton. "But nobody's safe. There's nothing I can do because this is where I live at."

Authorities are searching for the gunman. No arrests have been made and police do not have a motive for the shooting, which remains under investigation.
