According to the station, Harris County Fire Marshal investigator Scott Schoonover said, "It appears the dog was dumped and set on fire."
A surveillance camera from a neighbor recorded the incident. In the video, a man pulls up in a black sedan near the sewer, he walked back and forth from the vehicle to the sewer for a few minutes then proceeded to light the dog on fire, reports KHOU.
The dog was described as a white pit bull. However, neighbors reportedly said a man was offering a white pit bull on Friday night for $100.
Police have reportedly questioned "persons of interest' but no charges have been filed.
