Sen. Chuck Grassley's benevolence was on full display Monday.

The Iowa Republican was dogged all day by two field organizers from Americans Against Escalation in Iraq, a group urging lawmakers to end the U.S. military involvement in Iraq.

Liam Gallagher and John Slaight followed Grassley from one stop to the next Monday to attend each of his six town hall meetings in six separate towns across the state.

They were there to videotape the senator as they asked him questions about his continued support for President Bush's escalated military presence in Iraq.

Gallagher and Slaight are part of a program organized by Americans Against Escalation that has sent nearly 100 organizers to 40 congressional districts in 15 states this summer to pressure lawmakers to back a withdrawal.
