Dispute in Texas over fireworks involves flying bricks, Molotov cocktails, SWAT standoff, report says

(CBS) HOUSTON - Deputies in Harris County, Texas took a 27-year-old man into custody Friday after a SWAT standoff following a dispute over fireworks, CBS affiliate KHOU reports.

According to the station, a man told police that his neighbor, Michael Kuykendahl, became angry with him because he was setting off July Fourth fireworks early into the wee hours of the morning.

He said Kuykendahl first threw a brick at him, followed by a couple of Molotov cocktails.

When deputies arrived, Kuykendahl had reportedly barricaded himself inside his home with a woman and two young children.

SWAT officers were then called to negotiate the man's surrender. According to the station, Kuykendahl surrendered shortly before 11 a.m.
