John F. Kennedy, Jr. AP

(CBS) The facination with the Kennedys doesn't end. Last week an FBI memo tied Ted Kennedy to a brothel. And now, nearly 12 years after his death, one of John F. Kennedy Jr.'s ex-girlfriends is releasing a book that tells part of his story.

ABC News printed an excerpt of Christina Haag's upcoming book. She and Kennedy were friends as teens, went to Brown together and, after graduating, dated for five years.

Among the thing Haag reveals about JFK Jr. in her memoir:

- As a teenager, Kennedy loved to throw paper towels filled with Noxzema from his mother's 15th floor apartment.

- Haag's nickname for him was "King." He called Haag "Chief."

- He smoked pot.

- When he got scared, he wanted his mother.
