Dick Armey Gets Mad
Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey lashed out on Wednesday, after a reporter at a press conference questioned his lobbying work on behalf of the Recording Industry Association of America.
"You are just kind of annoying me," Armey told the writer from the Hollywood Reporter. "If you came here to grid an axe grind it someone where else because I frankly don't care what someone in Hollywood thinks of my credibility."
Armey, now a lobbyist at DLA Piper, was on Capitol Hill pushing a bill mandating that artists get paid royalties when their songs are played on the radio. The musicFIRST coalition hosted the press conference to promote the legislation, called the Performance Rights Act of 2007.
