Diane Sawyer and Jaycee Dugard rule the ratings
(CBS) With all the Interwebs brouhaha shoved in our faces each day, it can be easy to forget that people watch television. But remember: People watch television. And Diane Sawyer's interview with Jaycee Dugard is what they were watching on Sunday.
Sawyer's primetime special was the most watched summer news magazine special in seven years, reports The Hollywood Reporter. More than 14 million people tuned in.
The rest of the Sunday summer ratings? Not great. It's re-run time so maybe that's to be expected.
ABC cleaned up with Sawyer's interview. Fox and CBS tied for second place, with "60 Minutes" garnering 8.2 million viewers. NBC came in last. A new "Marriage Ref" had 2 million viewers.
