Dewey Defeats Truman

No headlines. No grinning President. No news coverage. Not much of anything, really.

But it's all the same to Fred Dewey. He won.

All right, maybe it helps that his opponent for county assessor, Milt Truman, died two weeks before the election. Maybe it also helps that ol' Milt was also in jail on an embezzlement charge at the time.

But, as Fred points out, dead and/or jailed candidates have won elections before, and are likely to do so again. So there's no reason why Fred shouldn't be celebrating today.
