(CBS) DETROIT - Shadell Love, a 21-year-old Detroit man, was arrested and charged in connection with a triple homicide that took place inside an abandoned Detroit home on March 6, CBS Detroit reports.

Love was arraigned on three counts of first degree murder in connection with the killings of 25-year-old Lauren Trotty, 20-year-old India Coleman and 25-year-old Curtis Clements, all of Detroit.

The three were found fatally shot on the morning of March 7 inside an abandoned home with two children, ages 1 and 5, who were unharmed. According to CBS Detroit, the 1-year-old was Coleman's child and the 5-year-old belonged to Trotty.

Kenyetta Hunt, a relative of Clements, told reporters on Friday that the 5-year-old witnessed the shooting and identified the shooter as her mother's ex-boyfriend. The toddler also reportedly said the 1-year-old witnessed the shooting as well.

If convicted, Love faces life in prison without the chance of parole.
